Early Mac Pro “Benchmarks”

‘Real World’ Photoshop Benchmark

Users run a Photoshop action and report the time it took to run the action. G5 still tops for speed (no surprise). I’d take these results with a grain or two of salt. Essentially, one would be buying the future by purchasing a Mac Pro now. I can’t imagine plunking down a few grand for a slower machine only to wait until Spring 2007 for Adobe to bring Creative Suite 3 to the Intel Macs. However, I can imagine that the speed gains in Leopard and CS 3 will be well worth the $$$.

I think this is the type of product that is marketed toward the kind of person who has to be the first one to have the latest thing.
