Interesting International Herald Tribune article about possible Apple moves in the portable/mobile computing world.

Perhaps the most interesting thing in the article is that the market (particularly in the U.S.) is at a place where a move into this space from a company like Apple doesn’t just have design implications; the business model and strategy also could dramatically change how mobile devices are purchased, how content moves on and off of the devices and whether or not the carriers will cede their shitty interface-laden, iron grip on devices they allow on their networks.
